Craigslist, my venue of choice for finding Toronto FC tickets will undoubtedly be the place to find them this week upon further news that David Beckham will likely not play in Sunday’s game.
Oh, the tragedy.
So queue the panic selling and queue the loyal fans picking up tickets on the cheap. And kudos to those able to repurchase tickets at a tenth of what they sold their original tickets - nice profit margins to be made.
But, while there may be no Beckham on Sunday, let’s not forget that the atmosphere of BMO Field is well worth the admission price and that you weren’t supposed to go to see Beckham in the first place, but to cheer your team on to victory. Beckham should be considered a bonus.
And, moreover, if ever TFC needed an 12th man on the field, it will be in the coming games. Of the usual starting 11,
Captain Jim Brennan (ribs), Jeff Cunningham (abdominal), Ronnie O’Brien (knee), Danny Dichio (back), Greg Sutton (concussion) and Marvell Wynne (hamstring) will all miss extended periods of time due to their respective injuries.

So buy yourself a ticket to the game and fill a seat with the kind of uncompromising, unquestioned support befitting of an expansion team that needs all the help it can get.
