Toronto FC will once again be taking part in the Carolina Challenge Cup hosted by the Charleston Battery of the USL.
TFC had a good showing in the tournament last year as an expansion team, finishing second, so hopefully we can take it this year for the teams first piece of hardware. Also joining TFC will be the NYRB and San Jose Earthquake (I hate Americanized names on soccer teams…)

On to some rumours -

Corinthians player Roger is supposedly in negotiations with Toronto FC. I don’t know him all that well, but the consensus opinion seems to be loads of talent perhaps hindered by a lack of ambition. Word has it he’s also a bit of a playboy BUT I suppose we’ll cross the bridge of whether or not he’d make a good showing in the MLS or merely be here to pick up a paycheck when we get there.

Also, there are rumblings that Samuel is drawing interest from Scotland, specifically St. Johnstone, but we’ll have to digg a little deeper into those rumours. Sad to see him go? Let’s put it this way, I wouldn’t be sad to see 15 pounds of him go because I think a lighter, quicker, more nimble Collin Samuel could still be quite useful to our squad.
